Most dental implant cases involve two very different jobs. Someone has to place the implant in the jaw, and someone has to design and fit the tooth that goes on top of it. In a lot of practices those are two different offices, and you become the person carrying records between them.
At our Gilbert office both happen in the same building. Our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon places the implant, and our prosthodontist, one of a small number practicing in Arizona, designs and fits the restoration. They plan the case together before treatment starts, which is the part patients rarely see and the part that decides how the finished tooth looks and bites.

A consultation and 3D scan to see whether there is enough bone, and where the nerve sits. Placement of the implant, usually under local anesthetic with sedation if you want it. Then a healing period while the implant integrates with the jawbone. That part is slow because it is biology. Finally the crown or bridge is fitted.
Simple single-tooth cases often finish in a few months. Cases that need a bone graft or a sinus lift take longer. We would rather tell you that at the consultation than halfway through.

Our oral surgeon is a diplomate of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, so sedation is handled in-house by someone credentialed in it.
If anxiety is the reason you have been putting this off, say so when you book. It changes how we plan the appointment, not just what we give you on the day.
Implant cost depends on how many teeth are involved, whether grafting is needed, and what the final restoration is. We give you a written figure before treatment starts.
We accept most dental insurance, offer financing, and run an in-house discount plan for patients without cover.
The implant itself is permanent once it integrates with your jawbone. The crown on top is a restoration and may need replacing eventually, in the same way any crown does. Good home care and regular hygiene visits matter more to implant longevity than almost anything else.
Age on its own is rarely the deciding factor. What matters is general health, whether you smoke, and how much bone is available in the jaw. Plenty of implant patients are in their seventies and eighties. The consultation and scan answer this properly for your case.
Placement is done under local anesthetic, so you should not feel the procedure itself. Most patients describe the days afterwards as more comfortable than they expected. Closer to an extraction than to major surgery. Sedation is available if the idea of the appointment is the problem.
This is common where a tooth has been missing for a long time, because the jawbone shrinks without a tooth root stimulating it. Bone grafting or a sinus lift can rebuild the site. It adds time to the treatment, and we will tell you at the consultation, not partway through.
We accept most major dental plans and file the claim for you. Implant coverage varies a lot between policies, so we verify your benefits and give you a written estimate before you commit to anything.
